BMW is going to soon launch the brand new X7 iPerformance concept at the manufacturer connected Frankfurt auto show. This new SUV will be a hulking one, featuring the BMW design that we expect, a hybrid powertrain and a really airy and light cabin that is a true delight to stay in, for sure. It is worth mentioning that this is still a concept SUV but the iPerformance will be in part of what we are going to surely see with the BMW X7 in 2018. X7 production rumors have been around for a long time, like the introduction of the CLAR modular platform (now available in the 7-Series) but we should still not speculate too much.
Luxury – A Priority
BMW X7 iPerformance is particularly important because it will signal design changes that we should see in most of the 2018 models. The cabin is not going to be crammed and designers are focused on a minimalist, high-tech, sleek interior. Materials are of a high class and the infotainment system is clearly highly advanced.
The best way to describe the interior of this new full-SUV is light and comfortable. There will be a panoramic roof that is large and brings in much natural life, making the interior feel a lot larger. The main materials of choice are wood, polished aluminum, matte aluminum and leather.
Different digital screens can be seen in the interior, with the driver having access to a 12.3 inch option that is most likely featuring a good touchscreen. Most of the design is similar to what is found in the higher-end Mercedes-Benz models. What is particularly interesting is that the second row features 2 extra touchscreens that will surely offer extra entertainment.
US Production
BMW X7 is going to reach US showrooms at the late of 2018 and sales are most likely going to start at the beginning of 2019. The manufacturer is a notable absence in this SUV segment. This was a huge surprise since we are talking about a pioneer with the X5, which practically transformed the market. X7 is definitely going to be a huge competition with potential rivals listed including Lexus LX, Cadillac Escalade and Mercedes-Benz GLS.
Exclusivity
The BMW X7 iPerformance is a concept that is to be revealed really soon but BMW is expected to also announce many new extra things, especially in connection to the current 7 Series and the i8. Specialists expect unique design features and treatments, all with the sport black/white BMW version making a comeback after being first used one hundred years ago. Frankfurt will feature a really busy BMW stand with an extra electric sedan concept presented, the M8 GTE, the Z4 and the 8-series concepts and more.
